Luiz Carlos Trabuco Builds the Reputation of Banco Bradesco

     Bradesco is a trailblazer in the Brazilian banking industry. It has 5314 branches across the country and 4,834 service branches with more than 100,000 employees. Amador Aguiar founded it in Marilla which is coincidentally Trabuco’s home. Despite having been in existence for more than 70 years, it has only had two presidents and four CEOs. Luiz Carlos Trabuco, the current CEO, has been instrumental in the growth of Bradesco to the reputation it now holds.

About Luiz Carlos

Luiz Carlos Trabuco is a graduate of the University of Sao Paulo, Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters. He also has a postgraduate diploma from the School of Sociology of Sao Paulo, in Social Psychology. Mr. Trabuco put himself through college, and this meant he had to work several jobs. This taught him dedication and hard work.

In 1969 at the age of 18, Trabuco joined Bradesco S.A as a clerk. Following his input in the growth of the bank, Mr. Trabuco was appointed department Director in 1984. Fourteen years later, he was promoted to Managing Director Executive. The next year, due to his outstanding work of about 40 years, he became Vice President, and in 2003, he took over the leadership of the bank.

Leadership Roles

Under Trabuco’s management, Bradesco doubled in size in six years. Not only geographically but also financially moving from 20 million account holders to 27 million from 2009. He is a man who continuously researches the market in order to ensure the company stays on top of the financial industry.

Contribution

Luiz Carlos has in many ways followed in the footsteps of his predecessor Amador Aguiar. He for one pays more attention to traditional banking service practices that demand a close encounter with customers. This is despite the fact that these practices do not directly convert into profits.

Additional Information

Luiz Carlos started his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Directors at Bradesco. He is not only a member of the Managing Body and Managing Director of Fundação Bradesco but also of (FIMADEN), the Foundation Institute for Digestive System and Nutrition Diseases. In addition to this Luiz is a sitting member of the Board of Directors of (FEBRABAN), the Brazilian Federation of Bank Association.

Awards

In 2009, Luiz Carlos won the Don Quixote Trophy. He was dubbed entrepreneur of the year in 2015, for finance and is on the Forbes Magazine List of Best CEOs in Brazil in 2016. On Ultimo Segundo’s ranking Of The 60 Most Powerful of Brazil, he was in the 24th position.
