Securus Technologies Helping Close Cold Cases

I am part of an elite force that have only one job, closing cold cases and bringing those suspects responsible to justice. We were dealing with a cold case that was very unique because we had an idea who our suspect was, but he literally feel off the radar. He never surfaced anywhere in the world, and stayed out of trouble for years after he was originally convicted, he just decided to disappear by skipping his bail.

We had his family and friends all under surveillance all these years, and never did one of them call or try to reach out to this suspect. With nothing as far as leads, we decided to try something that was risky but our last hope. Before i spoke with the inmates in our local prison, I knew already they were not going to talk to us, so I spoke with officers about getting my team up to code on the inmate call system in the jail.

Securus Technologies installed the latest inmate monitoring system, and the CEO of the company says his 1,000 employees are committed to making the world safe. This Dallas-based company has systems in 2,600 jails, and now we had access to one of the best. I was trained on the LBS software and decided to test my idea. The inmates knew what information we were looking for, but they said nothing.

As far as the inmates, they have a very strict code among them when it comes to talking to the police. If they were to even help in an investigation, they are immediately labeled as rats and that brings with it a type of justice the inmates tend to hand out to each other. Not only will the inmate never be trusted again, they will have a very hard time trying to make it on the inside because every single inmate will be gunning for that huge target that they now have on their back.

That was what I expected because I knew if they knew anything, they would say something on the phones later that day. As expected, one inmate was telling his family how to respond if any police showed up at their house. This was a distant relative of our suspect, and the one family we never tracked all these years. Securus Technologies system was the key to connecting the dots in this case.
